Dream a Little Dream

Dream a Little Dream is my latest independently recorded album, featuring a collection of beloved classics, including La Vie En Rose, What a Wonderful World, and When You Wish Upon a Star. Inspired by the timeless song Dream a Little Dream of Me, I wanted to create an album that captures a sense of romance, nostalgia, and easy listening—a collection of songs that listeners can simply relax and dream along with.

This album has been over a year in the making. As an independent artist, I oversee every stage of the production process myself, making each album a true labour of love. From selecting and purchasing the backing tracks to booking recording sessions, designing the CD booklet, and even hand-recording each CD, every detail is carefully considered. While this is certainly time-consuming, it helps to keep costs down and gives each album a personal touch.

Recording at White Noise Studios is always an exciting experience, although it can be challenging, as there is a great deal to accomplish in a limited amount of time. This album of fifteen songs took around eleven hours to record across three days, followed by the mixing process. I typically sing through each song twice, recording the entire programme before listening back to every track with the engineer. Together, we choose the strongest performances, and if needed, individual sections or sometimes entire songs are re-recorded to achieve the best possible result.

Creating an album is a lengthy and detailed process, requiring patience, dedication, and a great deal of care. However, seeing the finished CD in my hands makes every hour worthwhile. I am delighted to share Dream a Little Dream with you and hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
